Big Dance

Big Dance from 5-13 July 2008, is a week-long celebration of dance in all its styles and forms and is open to everyone to join in! Big Dance aims to get as many people dancing as possible in the lead up to the event, throughout the week itself and also to encourage people to keep dancing year round.

The first event in 2006 was a huge success with 300 dance events involving hundreds of thousands of people taking place. Six world records were broken and the BBC made two programmes, which attracted 5 million viewers, which made it the most watched arts programme on the BBC.
