Festival 2009

b.supreme Easter Weekend 10/11/12 April 2009

We all really wanted the next b.supreme festival to be bathed in sunshine, so have moved the festival to April 2009. Of course we might not achieve that goal because this year it snowed!! BUT ever hopeful we, and The Southbank Centre decided that the Easter Weekend would be a perfect celebratory time for the festival.

Inspired by some amazing battles we recently went to see in Miami, and inspired by some amazing female breakers that we saw competing, we have decided to structure the festival around Female Crew Battles.

We will be inviting B'girl Beta to put together a North American Crew, B'girl Aruna a European Crew and Sunanda, B'girl SunSun to pull together a UK Crew.

Because we will be teeming with some of the world's most amazingly talented breakers we decided that this would be a good time to take on the guys. So this year we will be inviting B-boys living in the UK to take on the challenge of battling a B'girl, and will be partnering everyone up in a Bonnie and Clyde event.

Although the Battles have been the unique part of the b.supreme programme, audiences have also enjoyed the mix of theatre performances and foyer events.

For our third festival we will be including DJ performances, spoken work, youth initiatives and professional Company performances.

We aim to have a good range of hip hop dance performances showcasing everything hip hop. So watch this space as our programme unfolds!
