Over 5,000 have attended the 2006 and 2007 festivals and thousands tuned to the “live from the venue” broadcast on 1Xtra. 162 Artists have performed, 89 from the UK alongside 73 International Artists.
Over the two-year period 597 young women from Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool and London have been involved in the extensive training initiative, which has totalled a massive 979 full days of training.
This art form is fun and challenging, which is why it has been successful in attracting young people to the training programme.
We know that this initiative can be used as a positive tool for individual development and empowerment, imparting confidence and skills that enhance life opportunities.
independance is seeking sponsors and donations so this unique programme of activity can continue.
