Artistic Objectives
- to provide regular training opportunities for dancers.
- to experience and learn different kinds of dance/movement based techniques through workshop activities
- to encourage accessibility to Hip Hop Dance to the general public through open classes
- to develop a performing group that would show their work both in and around South London as well as at national arts gatherings such as the Youth Dance England Festival and and Ballroom Blitz etc.
Artistic objectives are pursued through constant assessment of the company and the its work and the bringing of trained and experienced choreographers to work with the youth company. New projects will be funded individually and will be developed from initial ideas to public performance by the company. Independance will support the company and help decide how the company should progress. Working processes are democratic and inclusive, valuing and providing opportunity for all to contribute. Themes, performance formats and performance contexts are carefully chosen to encourage and broaden the company and audiences new to Hip Hop dance.
